Cooked Cravings

Saturday would normally be a food splurge day for me. The kids are probably having pizza--that's cooked pizza--for dinner tonight, and I want a slice too! Yet I'm terrified that pizza will be my gateway food, opening the door for pasta and croissants and bagels and who-knows-what-else. And will that one slice of pizza disrupt all the gains I've made over the last 2 weeks?

Yes--they really do! Hold strong if you can--if it's right for you now, the raw diet will feel more and more empowering and effortless as the weeks pass. I've been raw for 5 months (100% for the last 2 months), and don't really experience cravings for cooked food anymore. My new thing is trying Gabriel Cousens' Phase I anti-candida diet which is no fruit for 3 months--gulp! I'll see if I can sustain it or if it's better to wait until winter when there aren't any great harvest fruits/veggies to miss!

If it's not time for all raw yet--please be gentle with yourself. I read a wise post on Raw Food Right Now! that was helpful to me--they said that eating a little bit of cooked and moving on doesn't mean we aren't raw foodists, our overall intention and vibe is what is the real thing! The more raw the better and when it feels right, 100%! Blessings on your journey! :)

Thank you so much for the encouragement. I did have a couple of bites of a cooked sandwich and found that it didn't satisfy anything. :( I guess that's good, because I can remember that the next time a craving comes up.
